Last steps concerning your residence permit
After having received approval on your residence permit application, you need to make a personal appointment with the Immigration and Residence Authority in Austria, if requested. In that appointment, you have your fingerprints taken and present your original personal documents. Your residence permit is then printed, which usually takes one week. Only after having received your residence permit can you start to work!
Register in Austria within three days
You have to register in Austria within three days (“Meldezettel”) at the registration authority for your residence location. Generally, you will also need a copy of your Meldezettel in order to receive your residence permit.
